Automated Receiving Cage
Automated Receiving Cage
The Automated Receiving Cage (A.R.C.) is a patented technology designed for the technical development of soccer players through repetition in a fun and engaging way.
ARC Features
Ball Feed Capabilities
-
ARC delivers balls consistently from 5 MPH up to 50 MPH.
-
A.R.C. can deliver balls with variable left and right footed passing spin.
-
Ball elevation can be adjusted from negative values (creating a skip effect) to lofting balls at 45 degrees (thigh, chest and heading). ARC also has a “jitter mode” that will randomize service elevation within in an 18-inch area.
-
A.R.C. can deliver balls at a frequency of up to 16 balls per minute. In just 30 minutes, that is 480 balls with as many as 1,680 touches.
-
The user in an A.R.C. never will have to take the time to collect and reload balls allowing for an uninterrupted session.

Ball Elevation
Left/Right: Playing the ball left or right of center.
Gate Selection Timing: From before the ball is played to after the ball is player.
Ball Delivery Timing: The time between hitting a gate and sending the next ball.
Gate Selection Options: Which gates will be available for selection.
Amount of Gates: How many gates are active targets.
-
Once the session settings are selected and “Start” is pressed the system will automatically select a gate and deliver a ball. Trainers can also pre-select gates based on activity/skill player is being trained on (gates in front, behind, left, right, etc…). Each time a gate is triggered a new gate will be selected and another ball will be played.
-
A.R.C. can be set to score based game modes to provide a gamified experienced to training.
-
Each session tracks the following player metrics.
Accuracy
Speed of Play
Consistency
Bullseye
Structure
-
Eighteen smart gates surround the 30’ x 30’ ARC, lighting up to call out the next target.
Built-in sensors instantly detect every pass, delivering real-time feedback on accuracy and speed of play as the system fires the next ball.
Across 5–50 balls or set it up for 1-5 minutes of play, the system tracks accuracy, consistency and performance—giving players clear, actionable insights to level up their game.
-
There are 4 rebound boards around the A.R.C. One in front, one if the left, right and one in the back. These boards can be integrated into sessions to add variety and provide different session options.
-
A separate “smart” gate sensor is centered inside of each gate, allowing the option to have passes tracked for ultra-high accuracy. If this setting is turned on, the gate will only count as a success if the targets bullseye is hit.
Technical Aspects of ARC
Development Theory
-
Training in an ARC allows participants to get quality repetitions of any type. It uses repetition to build mastery.
-
The amount of repetition that can be achieved in an ARC is unmatched by any other method. It is not just about quantity of repetition but also quality. An ARC can reproduce the same high quality reps in unlimited duration.
Methodology
-
Technical work can get mundane for many athletes. The ARC turns technical work into a gamified session attaching statistics and scores to the session. The ARC also delivers true game modes such as Tik-Tak Toe and Knockout.
-
ARC’s are build to engage players and help them focus on the session. From the light feedback to the score tracking and more.
Application
-
ARC’s provide a perfect environment to our training protocol called Match-Fit. Match-Fit is a program focused on building fitness in conjunction with technical efficiency.
